Fire Side Throw

This beautiful throw is made using the waffle stitch and adds a touch of elegance to your decor. It is soft, lightweight and oh so cozy!

Materials

Bernat Blanket Yarn: 100% Polyester, 10.5 oz, 300 g, 220 yards x 6 skeins, Total yards 1269.

Hook: 8mm

Scissors

Yarn needle

Measuring tape


Gauge

5 rows x 9 double crochets = 4 inches

Throw shown measures 48 x 60 inches, 108 dc, 75 rows

DC - Double Crochet

FPDC - Front Post Double Crochet
Yo - Yarn over

Special Stitches

Front Post Double Crochet - Yo, insert hook from front to back to front around post, Yo, pull up a loop (3 loops on your hook), Yo, pull through 2 loops, Yo, pull through last 2 loops.

Notes

The Ch 3 in rows 2 and 3 count as a Dc. To increase the size of the throw, add in multiples of 3. This pattern is written in US terms.

Pattern Instructions

Ch 111

Row 1: Dc in third loop from the hook, Dc in each st across. Turn. (108 dc)

Row 2: Ch 3, (counts as 1 Dc here and throughout), Fpdc around post of next st, Dc in next 2 sts.  * Fpdc around next st, Dc in next 2 sts. Repeat from * until the last st, the row should end with 1 Dc. Turn.

Row 3: Ch 3, Dc in next st, Fpdc around post of next 2 sts.  * Dc in next st, Fpdc around next 2 sts. Repeat from * until the last 2 sts, the row should end with a Dc in last 2 sts. Turn.

Rows 4-75:  Repeat rows 2 and 3 until you have 75 rows or desired length.

Twisted Fringe

Attach yarn and sl st in first st of corner of width side of blanket.  Pull a loop until it reaches 11 inches in length. Twist loop 40 times clockwise, sl st into same st. * Sl st in to next st, sl st in to next st and pull loop until it reaches 11 inches in length. Twist loop 40 times clockwise, sl, st into same st. Repeat * across. Fasten off. Repeat this to other end of width side of blanket.
