Materials: Cotton yarn, any color, 4 weight, 20 yards
4.25mm (Size G) Hook
Yarn needle
Scissors

Size: 3 ½ inches wide
Stitches:
Chain - ch
Half Double Crochet - hdc
Slip Stich – Sl St
Gauge: Gauge is not important for this pattern
Notes: This pattern is written in US terms. The chain 2 at the beginning of the rounds does not count as a stitch.
Instructions:
Make a slip knot, chain 3.
Round 1: Work 10 half double crochet into the first chain. Join round with a slip stitch to the first half double crochet. (10 hdc)
Round 2: Chain 2, work 2 half double crochet in the first stitch and every stitch around. Join with slip stitch into the first half double crochet. (20 hdc)
Round 3: Chain 2, work 2 half double crochet into the first stitch. Work 1 half double crochet in the next stitch. Work 2 half double into the next stitch, work 1 half double in the next. Repeat from around. ( 2,1,2,1,) etc. Join with slip stitch into the first half double crochet. (30 hdc)
Round 4: Chain 2, work 2 half double crochet in the first stitch. Work 1 double crochet into the next 2 stitches. Work 2 half double crochet in the next stitch, work 1 half double in the next 2 stitches. Repeat from around. (2,1,1,2,1,1,) etc. Join with slip stitch into the first half double crochet (40 hdc)
Cut your yarn, weave in ends.
Crochet Washcloth Pattern
Skill Level: Beginner
Materials:
Medium weight cotton yarn (cotton works best for washcloths)
Crochet hook size h (5.0 mm)
Scissors
Yarn needle
Measurements: 7 - 8 inch square
Gauge: 14 sc x 11 rows = 4 inches

Special Stitches:
Chain:; Yarn over, pull through loop.
Single Crochet: Insert hook, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through both loops.
Slip Stitch: Insert hook, yarn over, pull up a loop and through the loop on the hook.
Pattern Instructions:
Chain 26
Row 1: Make a sc in the second ch from the hook and in each ch across the row (25 sc)
Row 2: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each st across.
Row 3: Repeat Row 2 until your piece forms a square shape. (about 25 rows)
Ch 1, fasten off. Weave in ends.
Optional Border (Makes it look Polished)
Attach yarn in any corner, chain 1, make a single crochet evenly around the entire washcloth. Place 3 single crochet in each corner.

Notes:
Skill Level: Easy Beginner. This pattern is written in U.S terms. It is constructed as a rectangle, made in rows and attached with a twist.
Special Stitches:
Chain: Yarn over, pull through loop (ch)
Single Crochet: Insert hook, yarn over, pull up a loop,
yarn over, pull through both loops (sc)Slip Stitch: Insert hook, yarn over, pull up a loop and pull
through the loop on hook (Sl St)
Pattern Instructions:
Step 1: Starting Chain
Make a slip knot Chain 61.
Step 2: Build the Band
Row 1: Insert hook into the second chain from the hook.
Make one single crochet in each chain across. (You
should have 60 stitches)
Row 2: Chain 1 and turn. Make a single crochet in each stitch across.
Repeat this row until your piece measures about 3 to 4 inches wide. Leave a 6” yarn tail.
Step 3: Create the Twist (Spa Style)
Lay the strip flat, fold each end in toward the center (like an accordion).
Overlap the folded ends.

Use your yarn needle to sew the ends together securely.
Turn right side out.
How to Stitch a Twisted Crochet Headband
Step-by-Step Instructions
Fold both ends in half like a taco.
Slide the folded ends into each other to create four layers.
Align all edges evenly and hold them in place.
Step 4: Join
Using your yarn needle and yarn tail, sew the layers
together securely from one side to the other about ½ inch from the top.
Pro Tips:
Do not stitch too tightly to maintain stretch.
Use clips or stitch markers to keep layers aligned. Ensure twist is centered before sewing. Leave a long tail for neat finishing.
