Materials:

  • Medium weight (4) cotton yarn (cotton works best for washcloths)

  • Crochet hook size H (5.0 mm)

  • Scissors

  • Yarn needle

Measurements: 7 - 8 inch square

Gauge: 14 single crochet x 11 rows = 4 inches

Special Stitches:

  • Chain: Yarn over, pull through loop.

  • Single Crochet: Insert hook, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through both loops.

  • Slip Stitch: Insert hook, yarn over, pull up a loop and through the loop on the hook.

Pattern Instructions:

Chain 26

Row 1: Make a single crochet in each chain across the row (25 sc)

Row 2: Chain 1, turn. Single crochet in each stitch across.

Row 3: Repeat Row 2 until your piece forms a square shape. (about 25 rows)
Chain 1, fasten off. Weave in ends.

Optional Border (Makes it look Polished)

Do not fasten off after row 3. Chain 1, make a single crochet evenly around the entire washcloth. Place 3 single crochet in each corner. Fasten off, Weave in ends.
