Description:

This Beginner Spa Crochet Headband pattern is a simple, fast and fun project
designed specifically for new crocheters. It uses basic stitches
(chain and single crochet), a straightforward flat rectangle and minimal shaping, so you can practice tension, stitch consistency and joining without
getting overwhelmed.

Materials:

  • Medium (4) weight cotton yarn

  • Crochet hook size H (5.0 mm)

  • Scissors

  • Yarn needle

Notes:

Skill Level: Easy Beginner. This pattern is written in U.S terms. It is constructed as a rectangle, made in rows and attached with a twist

Special Stitches:

  • Chain: Yarn over, pull through loop

  • Single Crochet: Insert hook, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through both loops

  • Slip Stitch: Insert hook, yarn over, pull up a loop and pull through the loop on hook

Pattern Instructions:

Step 1: Starting Chain

Make a slip knot, chain 61.

Step 2: Build the Band
Row 1: Insert hook into the second chain from the hook.
Make one single crochet in each chain across. (You should have 60 stitches)

Row 2: Chain 1 and turn. Make a single crochet in each stitch across.

Repeat this row until your piece measures about 3 to 4 inches wide. Leave a 6” yarn tail.

Step 3: Create the Twist (Spa Style)
Lay the strip flat, fold each end in toward the center.
Overlap the folded ends.

How to Stitch a Twisted Crochet Headband

Step-by-Step Instructions

  • Fold both ends in half like a taco.

  • Slide the folded ends into each other to create four

    layers.

  • Align all edges evenly and hold them in place.

Pro Tips:
Do not stitch too tightly to maintain stretch.
Use clips or stitch markers to keep layers aligned. Ensure twist is centered before sewing.  Leave a long tail for neat finishing.

Step 4: Join

Using your yarn needle and yarn tail, sew the layers together securely from one side to the other about ½ inch from the top. Turn the headband right side out.
