Medium (4) weight cotton yarn

Special Stitches:
Chain: Yarn over, pull through loop
Single Crochet: Insert hook, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through both loops
Slip Stitch: Insert hook, yarn over, pull up a loop and pull through the loop on hook
Pattern Instructions:
Step 1: Starting Chain
Make a slip knot, chain 61.
Step 2: Build the Band
Row 1: Insert hook into the second chain from the hook.
Make one single crochet in each chain across. (You should have 60 stitches)
Row 2: Chain 1 and turn. Make a single crochet in each stitch across.
Repeat this row until your piece measures about 3 to 4 inches wide. Leave a 6” yarn tail.
Step 3: Create the Twist (Spa Style)
Lay the strip flat, fold each end in toward the center.
Overlap the folded ends.

Fold both ends in half like a taco.
Slide the folded ends into each other to create four
layers.
Align all edges evenly and hold them in place.

Use clips or stitch markers to keep layers aligned. Ensure twist is centered before sewing. Leave a long tail for neat finishing.
Step 4: Join
Using your yarn needle and yarn tail, sew the layers together securely from one side to the other about ½ inch from the top. Turn the headband right side out.
